About Aesthetic Vibes

Aesthetic Vibes is a home improvement and DIY blog written by one person: Malik Areeb Ahmed. Not a content team, not a brand voice committee — just someone who's spent years fixing, replacing, and occasionally ruining parts of his own home, and writing down what actually worked once the dust settled.

Why This Site Exists

Most home improvement content is written to rank, not to help. It's built from product spec sheets and other people's articles, and it rarely admits what went wrong. The project write-ups on this site all start with a mistake: a floating shelf that tilted under 15 lb of books, a wall that came out streaked after the first paint attempt, a toilet swap that ran $90 over the store's estimate. Those mistakes are the reason the guides exist — they're what separates "here's how it's supposed to work" from "here's what actually happened."

Who's Behind It

Malik Areeb Ahmed has spent over 8 years renovating rooms, replacing fixtures, and building custom furniture — most of it self-taught, some of it corrected the hard way. Every guide published here comes from a project he actually did, with the tools he actually used and the price he actually paid, not a summary of what a manufacturer's page says a product should do.

What Guides a Good Guide Here

The Mistake Stays In

If a first attempt failed, the article says so and explains why, instead of only showing the version that worked.

Real Prices, Not Estimates

Every cost mentioned is what was actually paid, checked against the current listing before publishing.

Sources Get Checked

Claims about codes, safety, or material specs are checked against current manufacturer documentation or an independent source, not just repeated from another blog.

Affiliate Links Are Always Marked

If a product link earns a commission, it says so — see the Affiliate Disclosure for the full policy.

How the Site Makes Money

Aesthetic Vibes earns a small commission when a reader buys something through an affiliate link on this site, at no extra cost to them, and shows ads through Google AdSense. There's no other revenue source, no sponsored posts dressed up as reviews, and no paid placements. Full details are on the Affiliate Disclosure page.
